LAWN MOWER PILSNER
1 can Coopers Lager or Mount Mellick Lager Kit
1 lb. X Light Dry Malt Extract (DME)
.5 lb carapils
1 oz Saaz hop pellets
White Labs German Ale Yeast or one package of Nottingham dry ale yeast
3/4c Priming Sugar
1.Steep grains in hop bag in 1.5 gallons of water at 160° for 30 minutes. Remove grains.
2.Add Lager malt and dry malt and bring to a boil.
3.Turn off heat and add Saaz hops. Let sit for one minute.
4.Combine wort with water to make five gallons..
5.Pitch yeast when wort temperature is between 70-80°.
6.Allow to sit in primary fermenter at 65-70° for 4-5 days, then rack to secondary fermenter for 10-14 days.
7.Prime and bottle. When priming, dissolve corn sugar or dry malt extract in two
pints of boiling water for 5 minutes. Pour this mixture into the empty bottling bucket and siphon the beer from the fermenter over it. This method ensures that the priming sugar will disperse evenly through your beer.
8. Bottle condition for at least two weeks.
